Failing Rawgust

Honestly don't know where to begin with this one...but I think it's pretty obvious by the title that I've failed my original plan!

If I'm honest I assumed that rawgust would be slightly challenging...but not as hard as it actually turned out to be. If you read my last post 'Preparation for Rawgust', you'll of seen that I was preparing by drinking more water, mostly eating rawtill4 and overall tying to be more active. However, when it actually came to August I felt slightly overwhelmed with a pressure of getting everything perfect. I tried to do a full raw day, yet had wheat cravings...and towards the end of the day I gave in. 

Throughout the first week I still tried to keep following a raw diet... yet kept failing :/ So then, I decided that rawtill4 might of been a better way to go about it. This was due to the fact that I find it a lot easier (as I only crave wheat based foods towards the end of the day).

Some of you guys have asked me questions so I'll answer them below :) 

Q) Did you think you were going to be able to do it at the start?

A) If I'm completely honest...then yes! I felt rather confident and thought it would have been wayyyy easier than it actually was. 

Q) What was the hardest part?

A) For me, the hardest part was staying away from wheat products (eg. toast, crumpets, biscuits, crisps etc...). I find it easy to eat loads of veg throughout the day, however like I said earlier in the evenings my body seems to crave wheat? So if I were to attempt this again I'd have to prepare by swapping biscuits in the evening for a sweet natural snack instead, like bananas or grapes. 

Q) 'What food was your go-to?'

A) Courgetti and raw bars! The raw bars I loved were the 'paleo' ones from Aldi...they are coconut flavour and are AMAZING ! If you guys haven't tried them out yet, then I definitely recommend that you do!! 

Q) 'Why don't you do a week instead?'

A) This is such a good idea!! I don't know why I haven't considered that before tbf...haha. Yet I still feel like I'd need to prepare myself for a week of rawgust, however it would be a much more realistic goal to reach before attempting a whole month haha.

My next plans are to watch more YouTube videos for inspiration, focus more on meditation and trying to cut out wheat slowly...! Hopefully this will be achievable if I put my mind to it and try my hardest 😊
